Glad I don't have to teach in China

Well, educators, as bad as it may often feel to be a teacher in this era of teacher bashing, it could always be worse.  In December China made it illegal to use irony or scarasam toward students.
The Ministry of Education of China, for public comment in accordance with the standards, primary and secondary school teachers, kindergarten teachers may not irony, sarcasm and discrimination against pupils, not corporal punishment or disguised corporal punishment on students.

Recently, on the official website of the Ministry of Education for China it reported, “kindergarten teacher professional standards (for trial implementation)”, “professional standards of primary school teachers (Trial)” and “professional standards of secondary school teachers (Trial)” for public comment. Currently, teachers’ professional standards framework consists of the basic concepts, the basic content and implementation of the proposed three major sections. Teachers should put forward the basic concept of student-oriented, morality first, the ability for the heavy, life-long learning. Stressed that teachers should safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of students.
To all the educators in China, chin up, maybe your government is as wishy washy as ours is and the laws will change back to the days when you could "cane" the misbehaviors.  Just don't hurt their feelings.
