I am Thankful I don't have to travel.

Boys and girls, it’s that time of the year again, the time to be shocked and awed by stories of how busy the airports, and roads will be as people travel to their loved ones to fight, bicker, and pretend to give thanks for things they care very little about, while the whole time dreading the drive or flight back to their dreary lives.

It is almost as American as apple pie to talk about holiday travel, and Thanksgiving gets the season started by providing plenty of fodder for reputable news outlets to come up with articles which chronicle the journey of Americans who travel far and wide to gorge themselves on semi-lethal portions of turkey, stuffing and pie. There are, of course, the obligatory articles and blog postings about how to travel frugally, or the best way to spot a delay at the airport or on the road. And let’s not forget the slew of information which will be available for a few days after the 24th about how to shed the pounds gained during the eating binge, or what to do with the leftovers, or how to heal the rifts created by drunken discussions or airing of grievances at family gatherings.

Gotta love the holidays.
